love in the later days

Every afternoon Ellie and Frank drive to the water's edge to drink coffee that they pick up at McDonald's.  Many days it is the only thing that they do because Frank's legs are so bad.  His short term memory is gone too, so he refers to himself as a "nut".  He's a good nut.  Even though his conversation may not make sense, it is spiced with dramatic flourishes about the old country and the strong feats that his father accomplished.  He keeps up with the rest of us who are supposedly making sense.
