I see you still have colour, a last hurrah for autumn. Here it is all black and white pretty much. We are waiting for the first snow to drop and stay. Sometimes that does not happen until the New Year. Judging from the dumps people out west got, it may not be that way this year.
A lot of brown, many different shades. I am comforted somehow by the colors, the sky, the bare trees. That little bit of green is the grass around the apartment complex. I suppose that turns brown too, eventually. It's been a loooong time (30 years?) since I experienced a winter more than just a visit here or there. I'm excited!
PS It's quite warm today, like almost in the 60s, I think. I have the door open so that Jubilee can lay out on the balcony. But supposed to get cold by the end of the week and maybe snow.
It has been flirting with the freezing point the last few days. It will get warmer later this week, but 60 is unlikely, most unlikely. We had freezing rain overnight. The sidewalk was the slightest bit slippery this morning when I put out the garbage. Do you have a scraper to get the ice off windows in the morning?
The last (and only time so far) that I found my windows iced was the morning that I left for FL, back in mid Oct. John, however, says that he's had to scrape ice lots of mornings. Yes, I'm equipped with an ice scraper. Which reminds me of the time our son, Eric, was about 10 years old and saw an ice scraper. He had no idea what it was.
I keep two or three in my car so anyone who is getting a ride from me can help in the ice chipping and snow removal. It gets tiresome. The ice can get pretty thick here sometimes. At least I am no longer stuck in the college while the ice accumulates on my car in the parking lot.
