wild flowers

These are the flowers that grace our path these days.  I couldn't decide which photo I like best so I'm posting them all.  A chilly 36 degrees this morning.  I think this must be the last cold morning ...

  1. The top photos look to me like phlox. When I was a child, I got a package of "petunia" seeds which I eagerly planted in our little flower garden. We got phlox instead. I was sad, but they popped up each year and I got resigned to them. I have fonder memories of a nasturtium plant and some roses. BTW I really dislike marigolds. Must be the smell. They are useful for fending off nasties, I hear, but I still do not like them.

  2. They could be phlox, Barbara. They seem very wild to me, like they could grow anywhere. Marigolds are not my favorite, either, but if they keep the critters away from something else I am growing, I accept them.
