McConnells Mill in winter

The snow and ice are virtually gone, so for a change of pace we went for a hike up at McConnell's Mills this morning.  What a magic place.  Everything is so green there, what with the moss and ferns and cedar.
We didn't see anyone kayaking.  The water temperature is probably just above freezing.
This is the place where mighty trees grow on rocks!
Check out that little cedar tree ...
 Beaver activity ...
Jubilee went down to this beach for a swim, walked in and her back leg started shaking and she walked right out.  It's the first time I've seen her go in water and then decide not to swim.
 Woodpecker activity ...
John and Jubilee checking out a cave ...
The last of the ice ...
