snow

We finally saw some action on the sledding hill.  Still snowing ...

  1. We had about 20 cm of snow (8 inches). Looks lovely, but parking is a beast. The main streets are supposed to be cleared by rush hour Monday A.M. My side of the street I live on may get done on Tuesday. Ray was a no-show this morning, so I dug myself out of a few inches of accumulation in front of my car shelter and cleared the way into the street. I had a few words with him when I finally saw him this evening.

  2. I'm surprised at how "cleared" everything is around here, after 2 days of snowing. Most highways are fine. We were in downtown PGH today and I found myself wondering what had happened to all the snow. Be good to Ray! What if he doesn't show up??!! I try to spoil my pool guy in Florida, and it seems to work. He's always wanting to help me out.

  3. I was gentle with Ray. If he doesn't show up, I shovel. I can shovel. He did the first snowfall, so there wasn't too much to do on Saturday. I suggested he come around before noon after the snow stops falling. I had postponed a bunch of errands and had to get out on Saturday (get Bogart's prescription -- pricier than mine!).

I loved the donut shop sign. Snow doesn't look all that deep. Piles of it on the steet, created when digging cars out or clearing in front of driveways, is up to my shoulders. I always look forward to the procession of trucks and sidewalk tractors that come with snow clearance.
