more photos coming ...
This post was actually a demo showing my sister how to put photos on a blog. The present is for me. My birthday is tomorrow and I will be (gulp!) 60 years old!! oh gosh. And that's the last time I'm going to say it! This is one line that I am hesitant to cross.
That's some wrapping job - looks like it was done by a "one" on the enneagram.
ReplyDeletesorry, Marc, but I could never do anything like this, though "one" I am. I tend to make a real mess whenever I try anything crafty.
ReplyDeleteYes, marc, the wrapping is redolent of one-ness! I didn't realize that one-ness could be revealed that way, although not in every-One.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, beth!!! Glad to see you had a great celebration among friends. Way to go! Back when I turned 60, I was reluctant to mention it. However, one of my colleagues on the union executive, Pierre, turned 60 about 2 weeks before me and did so graciously. I had no choice but to do likewise. It is an achievement -- not everyone makes that milestone. Take advantage of your status whenever you can because you have, in a sense, earned it.
I've never been quite as cognizant of a birthday "number" as I am this year. Even turning 50 was not quite like this. I think that once I get over it and get used to it, I'll be ok - but it really does seem to be - for me at least - a reckoning point.
ReplyDeletehappy birthday Beth - i guess the only way out of it according to the scientists is to hover over a black hole which they say stops time but unfortunately the closest one would require one of those "speed of light" ships and cyrogenic suspension like on "planet of the apes" and who knows for sure where you'd wind up then?
